Sambal Chilli

Ingredients:
70 grms fresh red chillies
1 large red onion
6 cloves garlic
3 tbs cooking oil
80 grms ikan bilis, ground to a find powder
8 grms sale
18 grms sugar

Method:
1. Blend fresh red chillies, red onion and garlic to form a smooth paste.
2. To a heated wok, add cooking oil and stir-fry the ground ikan bilis for about 2 mins till fragrant.
3. Add the ground chilli paste, salt and sugar and stir fry for another 15 mins.

Nasi Lemak

Ingredients:
370 grms rice, rinsed
625 ml water
1- tsp thick coconut milk (1 pkt Kara)
3 grms salt
4 grms giner, sliced
3 pandan leaves, knotted

Method:
1. Put rice, water, coconut milk, salt giner and pandan leaves in an electric rice cooker. Mix well, cover and cook.
2. When the rice is done, stir gently to fluff it up.
3. Serve with fried ikan bilis, thingly cut omelette, cucumber and tomato slices on the side.

My face to the world

This web blog is constructed to serve several purposes. One to keep my family — scattered all over the world — together. Another, move to the next phase of my life.

I have been a journalist/writer/editor for most of my working life and now, I would like to put that all behind me and move onto the graphic sphere. They say ‘a picture is worth a thousand words’ — I’d like to see if I can draw that piciture.

I can imagine it’s going to be an adventure. Hope you’ll enjoy the ride as much as I am going to as I put this into action.
